Fall Fashion, photo by Phil Oh

Jessica Minkoff, Senior Fashion Market Editor of Marie Claire, is a tomgirl at heart. The Tiger Studded top was her choice for Fashion Week styles as it has the ease and comfort of a T - Shirt but feels sophisicated and sharp —- we love how she paired with a bold flower print short.

A Shining Example: Day to Night

Blogger Stephanie Duncan of Her New Tribe styles the Floral Raffia Dress — a highlight of the Fall 2014 Runway - for real life, from day to night:

Wearing a dress meant for night in the daytime feels rebellious and fun! By keeping my makeup simple and accessories casual, even sporty, a party dress can feel modern and edgy for day.

For day, it’s the classics: Ray Ban Wayfarers and Vans slip on sneakers (which are sure to be paired with every feminine and flirty thing I own this saeason). Hair down and messy, textured with Surf Spray from Bumble and Bumble. Tarte Cheek stain and MAC lipstick in Cherish - I’m obsessed with a nude lip for day. Tote by fashionAble, a sustainable fashion brand.

For night, form meets function: Tights for night in the fall are a must for me, especially with short dresses —- no risk of flashing anyone, legs look thinner, and I feel more put together. Platform booties by Loeffler Randall, which go with everything except my swimsuit and pajamas. Hair is an undone not-so-fancy updo…basically I just twist, tuck and pin and hope for the best. Stila Stay All Day Eye Liner for a sharp cat eye and Bobbi Brown creamy matte lip color in Valencia Orange, which I think is more unexpected than red or pink.

A Warm Welcome To Atlanta

We love the urban sophistication of this cosmopolitan city, home to stylish ladies and a bevy of places with international flavor and local flair.  Rebecca Taylor Boutique Manager Fatimah Kennedy shares her favorite spots.

The High Museum of Art.

Renowned classic and contemoporary art. Notable and on exhibition now: Painter’s Painters: Gifts from Alex Katz. Through November 2nd.

Piedmont Park.  A beloved park with expansive lawns, dedicated joggers and a one-of-a-kind art exhibition / childrens playground, The Isamo Noguchi Playscape.  Piedmont Park.

Spice To Table. An Indian patisserie from Chef Asha Gomez with a menu that changes daily and flavors that are out of this world. Must-try: the samosas. And, everything else.  Spice to Table.

Cacao. Chocolate confections, from the bean to the bar. Try the traditionally-untraditional Salame di Cioccolato. An Atlanta institution. Cacao.

Apres Diem. Happy hour with the girls or a romantic first date, Apres Diem is a good choice for a good time. Apres Diem.

First Looks

Beautiful backstage photographs of a few of the first looks from the Spring 2015 Runway show from photographer Carlotta Manaigo. I love the ethereal quality her photographs capture, the love of light, the beauty of fragility.

Joy

I came across this image from the Holi Festival and love the rich colors, as well as the general idea behind the festival: a celebration of color and love. There is such joy in our Spring 2015 collection, from the music, to the prints, to the colors, to the spirit of the beautiful models we have cast. Please join us and watch the runway show live on rebeccataylor.com Saturday 9/6 at 1pm live from NYC Fashion Week.

Danielle: The Grapevine Print Jumpsuit

I’m loving the idea of effortless vibe and this jumpsuit is the perfect example. Versatile and easy, it’s definitely my go-to piece of the season.

Must have’s for Fall: A oversized cozy knit, pleated midi leather skirt, paired back to over the knee boots and my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag.

Colleen: The Lace Dress

I am ready for Fall! My style advice is to keep it simple and chic. There are some excellent options for non-boring basics that become even more special with details. I love the luxurious feel of this dress, it’s feminine and sexy in an understated chic way, and the leather trim adds edge, and it can be worn year-round. My lip color of choice is blood orange by Bite which gives the look the right amount of pop, my sunglasses are Sunpocket.

Page: The Melton Coat

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I love outerwear and sweaters, so I’m always really excited when I get to start wearing them. This fall I’m very into menswear. I’ll wear oversized sweaters (I buys mens’ so they’re extra-long) and plaid. The Southern ex-prep school girl in me gets them monogrammed on the cuff-I’ve always liked it when I see this detail on mens’ shirting. The Short Melton Coat is a great “third piece” to throw on top—the roundness of it will ease up on the masculine vibe.

TEXTURE. I just bought a great leopard brocade mini skirt that I can’t wait to wear with a super long nubby cardigan. I like the idea of playing with proportions. A buttoned up shirt underneath and a giant scarf will make it feel not sloppy.
I’m going to invest in a really chic and timeless flat boot; it will be great (and comfy) to toughen up dresses and skirts, and always looks classic and polished with jeans. And of course it will be warm and functional, especially for those days when the temperatures begin to dip. I have a penchant for high heels but practicality has begun to prevail, especially since our last NYC winter was so brutal.

I tend to err on the side of classic with a twist when I dress for fall and winter. Even the most neutral of color palettes (grey and navy are my faves) can be dressed up with the right amount of jewelry and the perfect bag. My social calendar for the chilly months definitely involves red wine and comfort food, so even if I’m wearing something like black jeans and a sweater, I’ll wear about 7 rings to make myself feel a bit more “dressed”. I will obviously and probably exclusively be wearing red lipstick (Mac’s Ruby Woo).

Sara: The Dotty Dress

For fall, I’m looking forward to pairing feminine prints and shapes, like the Dotty dress, with more utilitarian pieces; I plan on wearing my favorite army green anorak every day until it gets too cold, and I love a great menswear-inspired oxford shoe, but in an unexpected color or metallic. There’s a running joke at the office that no one has ever seen me in a pair of pants, but I love to balance my girly skirts and dresses with my trusty Vans or a lived-in work boot in the fall.
